Our Senior project manager was appointed as lead project manager to supervise several Airfield projects worth £160M for Manchester Airport’s Transformation Project. Taking these projects through conception, design, procurement and into Delivery.
We provided the technical and planning management for UK Power Networks during their move of a vital HV substation and IT Communications Hub. From the centre of Manchester Airports Airfield to make way for a new Taxiway development.
The substation-controlled ground-to-air communications, the National Air Traffic Control (NAT’s) systems and the airfield ground lighting control.
Laycotech was responsible for designing the methodology of moving the critical equipment the stakeholder management between NATs, the emergency services, Manchester Airport Airfield Operations and International cargo control. Laycotech also supervised the actual moves and the re-commissioning and setting to work.
Laycotech are working with an International Brewing Corporation on their largest brewing site in the UK to manage their electrical assets.
Laycotech have surveyed all their electrical assets and assessed their condition and criticality to the brewing operation.
We have compiled an asset replacement programme designed to optimise maintenance and capital spending against equipment failure and expensive loss of production due to unexpected downtime. As well as ensuring that all legal obligations are being met.
During the reporting stage of the asset management programme, Laycotech made the client aware that most of their Switchboards and large LV electrical distribution equipment was passed its design life.
To offset the need to replace these assets in the near future Laycotech is carrying out a re-lifeing programme across the site to prove this equipment is still safe and operating within its design parameters as well as meeting the client’s obligations under the Electricity at Work act.
A Laycotech Engineer working with a large International Airport in the UK has been responsible for the concept, design and delivery of several projects which have reduced the airport’s energy bill by £1.5M annually.
